Welcome to More Than Montessori
Hi! 👋 I'm so happy to have you here. I started sharing our family's Montessori journey on Instagram in July 2022. That account has led me here! I strive to inspire parents and caregivers from all different backgrounds and walks of life. My hope is to connect with other parents and provide them with a realistic approach to adopting the Montessori method at home. In addition to Montessori I share about hiking, balancing motherhood and work, and lifestyle content.

About our Family
My husband, Noah and I began dating in 2015, attended college together at Ohio University, and got married in 2019. We got pregnant in 2020 and welcomed Luca into our lives in May 2021! He has been the light of our lives. Noah is a Mechanical Engineer and I am a full-time remote working Director of Communications (I have my BBA in Marketing)! Once I got pregnant, I began researching about parenting and that's when I came across the Montessori method. Initially drawn in by the beautiful shelves and materials, I found myself diving in deep! I purchased The Montessori Toddler by Simone Davies and then I was really hooked.
Montessori At Home
As I began implementing Montessori with Luca, I wanted a way to share photos and videos of his response to the method. I was initially sharing on my personal Instagram account and I quickly realized my followers didn't care. Totally understandable, they were following for ME, not to learn about the Montessori approach. I began my Instagram journey there and More Than Montessori was born! I have really enjoyed connecting with other parents and discussing everything from Montessori to the less-than-glamorous parts of parenthood. The community has been so accepting and amazing.
What I Love about Montessori
I love that the approach begins with respect. Respecting the child is the bottom line most important aspect of the method. I truly believe children deserve as much respect as any other individual. Involving our children in our conversations and daily rhythms is so important to me. I grew up hearing phrases like, "children are meant to be seen, not heard". This is not how I want to raise my children. I believe there is a space for them always. In my home, I strive to cultivate a loving and accepting environment where everyone from every different background can come and feel respected and valued.
Please Tell Me About Yourself!
I would love to connect with you and learn more about your life! My favorite part of this community is becoming friends with so many amazing people.
